Congratulations to St Kilda Cricket Club, who proved too good for Melbourne Cricket Club at the Junction Oval last Sunday, claiming victory in the inaugural Men’s Premier U18 Competition.
St Kilda’s Harry Jones was named the Player of the Match for his outstanding all-round performance, scoring 60* from 59 balls when his team were in trouble, and then 3/52 with the ball.
Across the match there were a number of other individual performances of note: St Kilda’s captain led from the front scoring 58 from 59 balls, whilst Melbourne duo Ben Wickham (70 runs and 1/50) & Kyle Parrott (55 runs and 2/32) did everything they could to get their team over the line.
The Men’s Premier Under 18 Competition tournament was created this season as part of Cricket Victoria’s re-modelled Player Pathway.
