Melbourne adds more silverware to the trophy cabinet

In the women’s competition, Melbourne won the Women’s Premier 1st XI One Day Final in a dominant display over Prahran by 163 runs at Shepley Oval in very hot conditions.

The Demons made 4/259 off their 50 overs and then dismissed the True Blues for 96 inside 26 overs.

Melbourne’s Ella Hayward was awarded the Betty Wilson Medal for Player of the Final for her double of 57 runs & 5/26 off 10 overs.

Melbourne's win sits nicely alongside the Premierships already won by the 2nds who defeated Geelong and the 3rds who chased down Carlton in their Grand Finals at Beaumaris and the Club Championship.
